In addition to shiatsu, I also practise holistic massage offering only a few appointments each week.

What is massage?

Massage

Massage is a touch-based therapy that improves circulation, relaxes muscles, reduces stress, relieves stiffness and soothes the body and mind.

 

How can massage benefit you?

Massage benefits both body and mind. It helps taut muscles learn to relax and this, combined with strokes to aid lymphatic drainage, helps to release toxins.

Massage stimulates blood flow and the release of endorphins that make us feel smiley inside.

It is known to help:


  • relieve back problems and postural issues
  • aid recovery from repetitive strain injury and sports injury
  • ease muscular problems
  • alleviate tiredness and low energy levels
  • relieve myofascial pain
  • resolve anxiety and stress.
  • relieve headaches and migraine

 

What happens during a massage treatment?

At the first session we will talk about your health and lifestyle, which will help to personalize the massage.

The massage takes place on a massage couch for between 30 and 90 minutes – you decide whether you want a back massage, head, neck and shoulder massage, or a full-body massage.

Unscented oils or lotions are used to lubricate the skin, allowing for a relaxing and uplifting treatment.
